David R. Henley, 32, of Woodbine, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born June 7, 1980, in Baltimore, he was the son of Joan Henley, of Woodbine and Doug and Marsha Henley, of Mount Airy. He was the husband of Jami Henley, his wife of 4½ years, and his friend of more than 10 years.

He graduated from Catonsville Community College with a degree in automotive engineering. He was a lifelong member of the Sons of the American Legion.

He enjoyed all sports, especially the Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed playing softball with many friends. His favorite past time is being with his dogs and family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Bohde David Henley and Aubrey Danielle Henley; sisters Katie Henley and Kelly Eshelman; a brother, Jay Henley; and many other family and friends.

He chose to donate his body in the hopes of helping to find a cure for melanoma.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at American Legion Post 191, 801 Prospect Road, Mount Airy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Sons of the American Legion Post 191, Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 24, Mount Airy, MD 21771.
