David Walter Watson, 69, of Westminster, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Carroll Hospital. Born February 23, 1947 in Linwood, he was the son of the late James Walter Watson and Florence Eleanor Mercer Watson. He is survived by his wife, Edith L. Watson. Before retiring he worked as a painter and drywaller for Spinnaker Services. He was a member of St. Mary's United Church of Christ in Silver Run where he was also a Sunday School Teacher. He and his wife enjoyed steam shows. Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 children David Allen Watson and fiance Theresa of Colorado Springs, CO, Doreen Murray and husband Charles of Westminster, Edward Coughenour and wife Sarah of Randallstown, Eric Coughenour and wife Susan of Finksburg, 2 sisters Kathy McCalmont of Monkton and Ida Rogers of Glen Burnie. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Joan Little. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with his pastor, Rev. Eric Marstella officiating. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery.
