David B. Wire, III, 63, of Taneytown, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Dove House. Born September 11, 1951 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Myra Jean (Nickles) Wire and David Benny Wire, Jr. He was the husband of the late Margaret Irene Wire, who died July 6, 2014. He worked at Black and Decker for a number of years and was employed in the construction business. He served in the Navy and was a member of the Woodsboro American Legion Post No. 0282, VFW, and former member of the Reese and Community Vol. Fire Dept. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his wife and friends and was a member of the Jersey Knights Motorcycle Club, enjoyed fishing, watching sports, being with his dogs Dozer and Munchkin, and was an avid Ravens fan. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Paul "Chris" and Dawn Babylon of Westminster, sisters Jennifer Gettle of Finksburg, Cheryl Fowler of Union Bridge, Wanda Gail Britton of Westminster, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Mary Beth Wire of Catonsville, 3 grandchildren Christian, Victoria, and Teresa Babylon, all of Westminster. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Geoffrey A. Wire. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 12 to 2 p.m., where services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with Pastor John Carver officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be offered to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
