Deborah Jean Trimmer, 59, of Union Bridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster, after an extended illness.

Born May 9, 1954, in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Betty Baker Wantz. She was the wife of Robert E. Trimmer, her husband of 40 years.

She was a 1972 graduate of Catoctin High School in Thurmont and was employed for 14 years at Woodsboro Liquors.

She was a life member and past president of the auxiliary of V.F.W. Post No. 8806 in Union Bridge, a life member of AMVETS Post No. 7 in  Thurmont and a member of the auxiliary of the Glen W. Eyler American Legion Post 282 in Woodsboro. She enjoyed her dogs, cooking, visiting Ocean City, collecting porcelain dolls and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter Hope Green and companion David Ford, of Taneytown; son Robert E. Trimmer Jr. and wife Heather, of Catawba, S.C.; grandchildren Jacob, Wesley, Brittany and Tiffany; sister Jodie Stimmel and husband Wilbur, of Thurmont; and friend Kathy Yingling and husband Larry.

She was predeceased by a brother, John J. Wantz Jr.; and a sister, Virginia Stottlemyer.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service, 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge. Private interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Regional Cancer Center, 555 Center St., Westminster, MD 21157; or to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
