Delma C. Dixon, age 92, of Sykesville passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at the Fairhaven Retirement Community, Sykesville. Born June 18, 1923, in Dayton, MD, she was the daughter of the late John James and Sarah E. Thompson Curran. She was the wife of the late Clifton H. Dixon who died December 29, 2000. Delma and her husband had owned and operated the former Dixon's Flowers, Sykesville. She had resided at Fairhaven for the past several years. She is survived by her brothers-in-law, David Wakeley of Fairfax, VA and Jack Powell of Gettysburg, PA; nieces and nephews Debra L. Wakeley of Fairfax, VA, Daryl Wakeley of Alexandria, VA, Cindy Powell of Frederick, Judy Powell Lindsey of York, PA and Scott Powell of OH. She was predeceased by her sister, the late Elaine Wakeley. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10am to 12noon at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held at 12noon. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Those desiring may make memorial donations in her memory to Carroll Hospital Foundation, William Kahlert Cancer Center, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
