Dennis Luke Dolly, age 31 of Taneytown went home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Born March 8, 1986 he was the son of his loving mother Patricia Dolly and step-father Roy Houck, both of Westminster, and loving father Eugene Dolly of West Virginia who encouraged and inspired Dennis to be his own person. For 12 years he was the love and best friend of Mykayela Marsh of Taneytown; loving father of James Marsh, Adrian Marsh, Seth Dolly and Emily Dolly, all of Taneytown; and brother of Amy Dolly, Heidi Grinder, Dana Matzdorf, Caitlin Dolly. He had one brother, Alan "JR" Matzdorf Jr. whom Dennis was a pillar of strength and support for. JR admired Dennis as his role model and closest friend, whom he will dearly miss. He is also survived by his step-brother, Daniel Houck; 13 nieces and nephew; and many family and friends. Dennis was a 2004 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and studied at I.T.T. He worked as a millwright mechanic with Tenax, Bimbo Bakery, and most recently with John Grata Classic Corvettes. He was a humble, kind, loving soul and was devoted to helping others, especially with electronics and technology. He would say "If it's broken, I Got It!" He had a love of music that shaped his spirit and personality. His passion was the outdoors and West Virginia mountains. His quality time was spent tinkering with his step-father and best friend, "Pappy Roy". These two gained spirit and life through fun and companionship whether at work or home. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge on Sunday, July 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Rev. Virgil Cain will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartzler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 249, New Windsor, MD 21776.
