She spent her working years as a licensed Cosmetologist, working at several beauty salons before owning her own salon business in her home for over 20 years. She also volunteered at three Senior Citizen Centers in Carroll County, Maryland. Recently retired, she was passionate about people, as evidenced by her many dear friends and her pride and joy were her 4 grandchildren, whom she was completely devoted to: Luke and Haley Dewees and Kennedy and Kellen Simonton. Other family members include her eldest sister, MaryAnn Foster; younger sister, Janice Phillips; eldest brother Chester Jeffries; younger brother John Jeffries and many nieces and nephews.
