Donald Brown, 80, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House from complications due to Parkinson's disease.

Born March 31, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Marion Kenealy Brown and David Brown. He was the husband of C. Elaine Brown.

He served three years in the Army and was stationed in Germany before an honorable discharge in 1956. Before retiring, he worked as an accounting and payroll manager at Westinghouse for 33 years, where he was also a Junior Achievement member. He had a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He was a member of Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church in Ellicott City, Northminster Presbyterian Church in Reisterstown, and a member of the Parkinson's Group. He was a resident of Carroll Lutheran Village.

He enjoyed reading history books, telling jokes, traveling, and was especially proud of his four children for earning bachelor's degrees from the University of Maryland and graduate degrees from schools both in and outside the state of Maryland.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law Sean and Cynthia Brown, of Highland, Scott and Paige Brown, of Eldersburg, and Seth and Kimberly Brown, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law Shari and Douglas Burg, of Castle Rock, Co.; a sister, Evelyn Keil, of South Hampton, Pa.; and nine grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 21.

The family will receive friends at 10 am. Tuesday, Nov. 26 until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Krug Chapel, 205 St. Mark Way, Westminster, with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz officiating. After a short reception, inurnment with military honors will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Lutheran Village, Resident Assistant Fund, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158; or National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
