Donald Taylor, 89, of Gamber, died March 18, 2015. He was Born on January 11, 1926 in Relay, MD. He was the son of the late Adam Miller Taylor and Ruth Winifred Hatch Taylor. He was married to Ellen Marie Zimmerman Taylor for 67 years. He was a graduate of Catonsville High School and was drafted into the Army Air Force in 1944. He attended the University of Maryland after his discharge in 1946 and received an electrical engineering degree in 1951. He worked for the B&O Railroad and State Roads Survey crew before working as an engineer for Westinghouse. He retired from Westinghouse in 1987 after 31 years. He was a member of Gamber Fire Department, Tri-District and South Carroll Republican Clubs, Carroll County Historical Society, and Toastmasters. He enjoyed working on his farm, reading, trains, traveling to Elderhostels, gardening, politics, and going for Sunday drives. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Karen Walters, Donald C. Taylor, Allan Taylor and wife Judy, Wayne Taylor and wife Shelby, Scott Taylor and wife Cheryl, and Barbara Taylor; sisters-in-law Dorothy "Dottie" Taylor and Betty Ann Taylor; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Robert, David, and James Taylor and sister-in-law Peggy Taylor. Funeral services and interment will be private.
