Doris Bradshaw Hornberger, 88, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Crockett and Myrtle Perkins Bradshaw. She was the wife of Kenneth Hornberger, her husband of 55 years, who died in 1997.

She was the last of 12 siblings, of Riverside Park in Baltimore City. She was a 1943 graduate of Southern High School in Baltimore. She had worked for Wockenfuss Homemade Candies in Fenwick Island, Del., where she was the store manager.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Western Maryland College girls basketball team. She enjoyed baking and sewing.

Surviving are a son, Ken J. Hornberger, of Westminster; and a daughter, Ida May Hornberger, of Ordmon Beach, Fla.

She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Sharon W. Hornberger; and a son-in-law, Howard Smead.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
