Doris Olivette Howard-Riley, age 63 of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30th at Mercy Medical Center, after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born to the late Herbert Howard, Sr. and Edith Howard of Union Bridge, MD on March 14, 1954. Doris attended Francis Scott Key High School, before graduating from the University of Baltimore with a Master of Arts Degree in Legal and Ethical Studies, and Coppen State University with a Master of Arts Degree in Education. Doris began working for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, MD in 2002 and retired in 2015. Doris was an active, dedicated Jehovah's Witness who enjoyed the volunteer ministry of helping people to understand God's Word the Bible and deepen their relationship with Jehovah God. Doris married Richard Riley on April 14, 1985 and they walked hand in hand for 32 years. Her husband, family and friends were Doris's passion and delight. The fourth eldest daughter of twelve children, her family knew her as a kind and loving person who always had a smile on her face, her head in a book and her heart open to assist anyone in need. Doris had a special ability to reach people in a positive and meaningful way. Doris is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Howard, Sr., and she is survived by her mother Edith Howard, her husband Richard Riley, sister and husband Diane and Weddell Tate, Jr., sister and husband Dorthea and Todd Bracken, sister Dyneice Howard, brother and wife Herbert, Jr. and Nicky Bell Howard, brother and wife Gary and Augustina Howard, sister and husband Donna and Sean McLemore, sister and husband Deanna and Duane Sagala, brother George Howard, sister and husband Jacqui and Michael Beck, sister and husband Kimberly and James Harrell, brother David Howard, and an abundance of extended family and friends she loved and touched deeply. A memorial service will be held: Friday, August 4, 2017 at 2pm Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 4634 Bowleys Lane Baltimore, MD 21206
