Doris Loretta Dalton, 92 of Westminster, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster.

Born June 10, 1921, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Edna Reedy Reed. She was the wife of Harold C. Dalton, her husband of 70 years.

She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church in Eldersburg. She was a charter member of both the Freedom Lioness Club and the South Carroll Lions-Lioness Club.She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was an avid reader of religious subjects.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son and daughter-in-law Barry and Kathleen Dalton, of McHenry; and a sister, Hilda Clements, of Lancaster, Pa.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Dalton.

Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, 961 Johnsville Road, Eldersburg, with the Rev. Dr. William Brown and the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Wesley Freedom Legacy Endowment Fund, 961 Johnsville Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
