Dorothy Augusta Stewart, 95, of the Carroll Vista community in Taneytown, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at home.

Born Jan. 6, 1917, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Varnhorn Crafton. She was the wife of Olen C. Stewart, to whom she was married for 68 years.

She was a graduate of Seton High School.

She worked in the claims and personnel departments of the Montgomery Ward Department Store in Baltimore for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic community in Eldersburg.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Carol Deibel, of Taneytown; a grandson, Ronald Franklin, of California; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Fowler; and brothers Charles, Henry and John Crafton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with Monsignor Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment will be Monday at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
