Dorothy L. "Dot" Stair, 91, formerly of Greenbelt, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford.

Born April 26, 1921 in Confluence, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence P. and Ruth E. Peck Lohr. She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Stair, who died Dec. 23, 2010.

She retired from the Greenbelt financial Department and was a lifelong Christian as an active member of the Westminster Church of the Brethren, the University Park Church of the Brethren and, most recently, a member of the Faith Community at the Brethren Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family. At the Brethren Home Community, she spent time as a volunteer, which included sewing.

Surviving are son Kenneth L. Stair and his wife Linda, of Centreville; two daughters Debra L. Shawaryn and her husband Gene, of Lancaster; and Melanie C. Trombatore, and her husband John, of New Market; sister Mary Ellen Myers and her husband David, of Ellicott City; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brother Eugene Lohr and sister Margaret Myers.

The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the Nicarry Meeting House of The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the meeting house. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Good Samaritan Fund of The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
