Dorothy Baumgardner Martin, 93, of Westminster, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the Dove House. Born May 1, 1922 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Anna May (Harmon) Baumgardner and Robert Baumgardner. She was the wife of 64 years to the late Paul Otto Martin. She retired from Carroll County Public Schools in 1984 as the cafeteria manager at Westminster High School. She also worked at Grief Sewing Factory and most recently worked at the information desk for the McDaniel Athletic Department. She graduated from St. John High School in 1940 and was a life-long member of St. John Catholic Church. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for family and friends. She loved traveling and dancing with her husband and was the No.1 fan of the McDaniel College Women's Basketball Team. She is survived by a daughter Rebecca Lynn Martin of Westminster, nephews John Dell and wife Sue, Gary Dell and wife Judy and Vincent Dell, nieces Sarah DeRita, Dorothy Haschert and husband Dave, Susan Rinehart and husband John and niece-in-law Barbara Dell. She was predeceased by a sister Ruth Dell, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cleveland "Dempsey" Dell, Danner and Margaret Martin and Ella and Monroe Hyde and nephew Ed Dell. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with Msgr. James Farmer, celebrant. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157.
