Dorothy Ilene Rhoten, 86, of Taneytown, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the Dove House surrounded by her loving family. Born July 26, 1929 in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Freda E. Zimmer and Roby Spencer. She was the wife of the late Elwood Eugene Rhoten who died Dec. 26, 2001. Before retiring she worked for the Sweetheart Cup Co. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed going to the Taneytown and Westminster Senior Centers, bowling, playing games and being with family and friends. She is survived by children and spouses Leroy E. Rhoten and wife Pat of Taneytown, Christine I. Beall-Strauss and husband Dean of Eldersburg, Patricia A. Dillon and husband Paul of Taneytown, Debra E. Davis and husband Dennis of Taneytown, Diane K. Miller and husband Brad of Taneytown, Dennis E. Rhoten and companion Joan of Taneytown and Sarah S. Cutchember and husband Mike of Taneytown. Also survived bynumerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son-in-laws Tim Beall and Kenny Henry, 1 sister and 3 brothers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Amy Sarah Lewis-Rill officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
