Dorothy Selena Fowler, 92, of Romney, W.Va., formerly of Westminster, died early Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Born May 4, 1921, in Gainesboro, Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Effie DeHaven.

She had been a patient aide at the Rosewood State Hospital in Owings Mills.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, working with flowers and cats and dogs.

Surviving are children Josephine "Josie" Meekins and husband Nelson, and Elaine Flanary, all of Romney, W.Va., and Mikel Eaton, Nathan Fowler, and Sheldon Fowler and wife Shelia, all of Cleveland, Va.; a brother, Earl DeHaven, of East Berlin, Pa.; a sister, Catherine DeHaven, of Harrisonburg, Va.; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Hill; and three siblings.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with her grandson-in-law, Frank Onesty, officiating. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
