Dorothy Virginia Shorb, age 87, formerly of Taneytown and Hagerstown, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born October 4, 1930 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Russell Edward Sulcer and Ruth Virginia Hilbert Sulcer. She was the wife of Harvey William Shorb Sr. who died in 1967. Mrs. Shorb was formerly employed with Borenstein Manufacturing Co. and Cambridge Rubber Co., both of Taneytown. She loved to bowl, play bingo, do word search puzzles and watch old Western movies. Surviving are children, David Edward Shorb and wife Terry of Hagerstown, Harvey William "Bill" Shorb Jr. and wife Pam, and Linda Elaine Shorb, all of Keymar, Jeffrey Allen Lescalleet of Taneytown and Carroll Randall Lescalleet of Gettysburg, PA; 12 grandchildren, Wayne Smith and wife Kim, Brandi Crawford and husband Kevin, Billie Wagner and husband Neal, David Shorb Jr., Carroll Lescalleet Jr, Brittany, Amanda and Ashley Fogle and Patrick Rodgers, 18 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Fuss and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with Deacon Charles Barnhart, pastor of Keysville Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Keysville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 12. The family requests casual dress for the visitation and funeral.
