E. Virginia DeVilbiss, 87, of Boring, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Aug. 5, 1925, in Reisterstown, she was the daughter of the late A. Earl and Marion Lewis Welsh. She was the wife of the late Walter M. DeVilbiss Sr., her husband of 52 years.

She was a graduate of Franklin High School and a member of Boring United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star Ionic Chapter 73 and the Ladies Auxillary of Boring Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed gardening, designing flowers and watching birds.

Surviving are sons Walter M. DeVilbiss Jr., of Boring, and Bruce C. DeVilbiss, of Finksburg; daughter Diane L. Harmon and husband Bucky, of Upperco; a sister, Ruth Wilson, of Reisterstown; brother Herbert R. Welsh and wife Dolly, of New Freedom, Pa.; grandchildren Ryan Harmon, Charles DeVilbiss and wife Bethany, John DeVilbiss, Courtney Kaltrider and husband Shawn, Ashley DeVilbiss and Jaime DeVilbiss; and a great-grandson, Austin Kaltrider.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Elaine DeVilbiss; and a brother, A. Earl Welsh Jr.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mindy Coates officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
