Earl Stephen Hunt, 84, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Manchester, he was the son of the late LeRoy Earl Hunt and Mary Belle "Mamie" Zepp Hunt. He was the husband of Ethel Mae Ruby Hunt, his wife of 63 years.

He was an Army veteran and had served during the Korean War. He was a retired foreman for the Baltimore, Gas, & Electric Company.

He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester. In his spare time, he enjoyed country and gospel music, and being in the outdoors, especially cutting wood.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a sister, Eva Dolores Leese; a niece, Judy Green; a great-niece, Leesa Green; and a great-nephew, Bryan Green.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with his pastor, the Rev. Matthew S. Schenning officiating. Interment will be in St. John's (Leister's) Church Cemetery in Westminster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 739, Manchester, MD 21102.
