Earl Vernon "Ike" Haag, 63, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Nov. 17, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Mary Ellen Young and Charles Loyd Haag. He was the husband of Joyce Diane Haag, his wife of 32 years.

He was a member of D.C. Union Local No. 2311 for 40 years and also was a state certified welder and pile driver.

He enjoyed boxing and NASCAR; and especially time with his grandson, Brandon.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jason Earl Haag, of Sykesville; brother Chester "Chett" Haag and wife Diane, of Zephyrhills, Florida; a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Andoe, of the Eastern Shore; and a grandson, Brandon Nelson Haag, of Sykesville.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. Services will be held at a later date in Akron, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice's Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.

Arrangements are being handled by Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services in Westminster.
