Edith Grimm Tweed, 81, died December 20, 2015 in St. Augustine, FL. She was the loving wife to the late William H. Tweed for 30 years. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Wednesday, December 30 at the Mortuary with the Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Interment will follow in Bosley United Methodist Cemetery, Sparks, MD, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and grandson. Edith was born in Parkton, Maryland and was a graduate of Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and St. John's River Community College. She devoted 47 years as a Registered Nurse, donateding her time and two tours to South Florida after Hurricane Andrew. She was a Registered Nurse at Union Memorial Hospital; Black & Decker; the Masonic Home; and Carroll County General Hospital; Flagler Hospital, Ponce Care Center. She retired from the St. John's County Health Department in Florida. Edith is survived by her daughters, Patricia Fisher, Westminster, MD, Barbara Rorke, Manchester, MD and Cynthia Henley, Hastings, FL; sister, Dorothy Sheffer, Shrewsbury, PA; and brother, Robert Grimm, Mount Wolf, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a grandson, William Fisher. Flowers are gratefully declined; however, memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health, St. Augustine, FL and Hospice of Northeast Florida. JJHM.COM
