Edith Virginia Dayton, 76, of Westminster, formerly of Lahmansville, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born July 22, 1936, in Lahmansville, she was the daughter of the late Ruby Kimble Borror and Brison V. Borror. She was the wife of Eldon V. Dayton, who died in 1979.

Before retiring she worked as a custodian for the Carroll County Board of Education. She was an avid Bingo player, and an Orioles and Ravens fan. She was of the Christian faith.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Debby Dayton, of Finksburg; a daughter, Linda Dayton, of Westminster; grandchildren Brian Dayton and wife Christine, and Kevin Dayton and wife Melissa, all of Hanover, Pa.; great-grandchildren Hailey and Quinn Dayton, both of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Carly Borror.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, where a service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 N. Main St., Petersburg, W.Va.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Schaeffer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lahmansville.
