Edna Jane "Peggy" Deeds, 83, of The Villages, Fla., died Nov. 15, 2012, at Freedom Point Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Lady Lake, Fla., after an extended illness.

Born July 21, 1929, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Bointen James and Ada Mae Embrey Glesner. She was the wife of Howard Clarence Deeds Jr., her husband of 63 years.

She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church of Lady Lake. She and her husband were former residents of New Windsor before retiring to Florida 28 years ago, becoming residents of "The Villages."

She enjoyed needlework and spending time with her family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Howard Clarence "Skitch" Deeds III and wife Barbara, of Fairfield, Pa., and Mark Edward Deeds and wife Shirley, of Accomac, Va.; grandchildren Danielle Buffington and husband Robert, of Thurmont, Jason Deeds, of Fairfield, Pa., Brandi Jones, Brytni Deeds and Bryana Deeds, all of Accomac, Va.; great-grandchildren Adam and Brody Buffington, and William Jones; and a cousin, Mona Stonebraker, of Martinsburg, W.Va.

She was predeceased by a brother, Gary Glesner.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service, 1 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, with the Rev. Paul N. Leatherman Jr., pastor of Sams Creek Church of the Brethren, officiating. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery.
