Edna Louise Brauning, age 81, of Gamber, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born November 15, 1932, in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late William Skipper and Mary Carey Skipper. She was the wife of the late Charles Oliver "Curley" Brauning who died December 13, 1995. Edna was a retired Cafeteria Manager from the Carroll County Public School System. She was a member of the Bee Hive Club the Westminster Elks Club and a life-time member of the Gamber & Community Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. Edna enjoyed bowling in a league for many years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jack Baker of Finksburg; grandson, Dylan Baker of Finksburg; sister-in-law; Phyllis Skipper of Reisterstown; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Pat Brauning of Finksburg. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, William F. Skipper, Jr., sister, Susie Skipper and nephew, William F. Skipper, III. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gamber.
