Edward Eugene "Ned" Judge, Jr., 82, of Westminster passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at St. Joseph's Ministries, St. Catherine's Nursing Center in Emmitsburg. Born April 14, 1935, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edward E. Judge, Sr. and Helena "Nell" Tinker Judge. Ned attended St. Charles minor seminary in Baltimore, was a graduate of St. John Catholic High School in Westminster and Loyola College, Baltimore. He was an accomplished musician and composer of classical music who received his musical instruction at the Peabody Conservatory. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church choir, the Third Order of St. Francis, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and an instructor in piano until retirement. Ned enjoyed playing the piano for residents of local retirement communities. Surviving are sister Mary J. "Sally" Wineke of Bowie; brothers Peter A. Judge of Cazenovia, NY, James J. Judge of Westminster and Daniel P. Judge of Greencastle, PA. He was also survived by 17 nieces and nephews and over 60 great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, where rosary prayers will be given at 7:30 pm by the Sodality of St. John's. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Westminster. His family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ned's name to St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157.
