Edward Joseph Brosnan, 59, of Eldersburg, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Carroll Dove House following an extended illness.

Born Aug. 31, 1952, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Francis Michael and Florence Alvina Olshefski Brosnan. He was the husband of Donna Kay Brosnan. They were married for 22 years.

He worked for the federal government, first with NASA, then with the Environmental Protection Agency, then with the National Credit Union and lastly again with the EPA. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, talking on the phone, spending time at his mountain retreat in Garrett County, visiting family in North Carolina and riding his shovelhead style Harley.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Jessica Suzanne Prince and husband Michael, of Holly Springs, N.C.; Amy Christine Dibb and husband Andrew, of Pittsboro, N.C.; step daughters Candice M. James and husband Christopher, of Mount Airy; and Patricia G. Jones and husband Gregory, of Westminster. He is also survived by grandchildren Luke, Kalli, Morgan, Alyssa, Trevor, Nathan and Ryan; and step-grandchildren Riley, Abigail, Emma and Trent.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Michael officiating. Interment will be private.
