Edward Kaheel "Ed" Rittmeyer, III. of Westminster, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Ed was born on March 19, 1950 in Baltimore and was the son of the late Edward and Marguerite Tabet Rittmeyer. He was the beloved husband of Susan Ann Watts Rittmeyer, his cherished wife of 45 years. Ed grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Archbishop Curley High School, class of 1968. He then furthered his education at the University of Baltimore, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate Degree. He was a former member of the Maryland Bar Association. He was employed for 35 years as a sole practitioner in Baltimore City, where he specialized in real estate title law. Ed had a voracious love for reading, and will be remembered both for his quick wit and kind humor. Surviving in addition to his wife Susan is his devoted son, Bryan Christopher Rittmeyer of Seattle, Washington; mother-in-law Nancy Watts of Spring Hill, Florida; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was the loving uncle to four nieces, a nephew and one grand-niece. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the Celebration of Ed's Life at 1:00 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Rev. Shari McCourt will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ed's name to either Maryland Public Television, 11767 Owings Mills Blvd., Owings Mills, MD 21117 or the Carroll County Public Library, 1100 Green Valley Rd., New Windsor, MD 21776.
