Edward Lee Rhoderick Jr., 43, of Sykesville, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at home.

Born May 13, 1969, in Olney, he was the son of Edna Kline Stambaugh, of Sykesville, and Edward Lee Rhoderick Sr., of Mount Airy.

He was a 1990 graduate of the Carroll County Education Center and had attended Change Inc. for 22 years. He enjoyed country music, especially Shania Twain, swimming, Orioles baseball, and spending time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are uncle Lawrence Kline and wife Rita, of Blairsville, Ga.; aunt Sandra Ashby and husband Ron, of Littlestown, Pa.; cousin Teresa Johnson and husband Mike, and their son Brenden, of Gettysburg, Pa.; godmother Judith Knorr, of Winchester, Va.; friend and caregiver Marc Homer, of Sykesville; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and extended family.

He was predeceased by his stepfather Albert Vernon Stambaugh Jr., who helped raise him; maternal grandparents Lorenzo and Florence Kline; and paternal grandmother Patsy Rhoderick.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ralph Nies officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Edna Stambaugh, 100 John Bennett Road, Sykesville, MD 21784, to help defray funeral expenses.
