Edward Joseph "Ed" McAdams, 85, passed away at his home in Shrewsbury, PA on November 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 31, 1932 in Ferndale, Maryland, one of four children, to the late James W. and Rose A. McAdams. He spent a happy childhood in Ferndale and later raised his own family there. In 1977 he moved his family to Manchester, MD, where they lived for many years. He was a US Army veteran during the Korean War. After a 30 year career as a construction electrician he went to work as maintenance mechanic at M.S.Willitt for 15 years. Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather¿ and friend to all who knew him. He thoroughly enjoyed both his hound dogs and his horses and passed on his love of riding to his children. He was a selfless man who loved well with his time and talents. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia A. McAdams, children Kathleen P. Hartig (Bill) of Westminster, MD and Edward K. McAdams (Bonnie) of Glen Rock, PA; grandchildren Sarah T. Hartig, Katie E. Ceary (Philip), Rachel K. Morris (Dan), and Kevin J. McAdams, and great grandchildren Matthias and Joshua Ceary. In addition to his parents Ed was predeceased by his brothers James, Frances, and John McAdams. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Redeemer's Fellowship Church, 17031 Mount Airy Rd, Shrewsbury, PA 17361 @ 12:30pm.
