Edward Paul Herman, 85, of New Windsor, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Sun Valley Assisted Living.

Born June 26, 1927, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Frances Kurek Herman. He was the husband of Dolores Wright Herman, who died in July 2003.

He was a veteran of the Navy and served during World War II. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for the City of Baltimore and retired after 43 years.

He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster, the American Legion Post No. 31 and the VFW Post No. 10145. He enjoyed playing golf and sports, especially soccer.

Surviving are children Edward G. Herman, of New Windsor, Dolores M. Imes, of Arendtsville, Pa., and Clifford E. Larkins Jr., of New Windsor; siblings Theresa Fiden, of Baltimore, and Bernadine Gramil, of Pasadena; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers Raymond and Albert Herman.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Interment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
