Edward Roy Dill, age 89, of Sykesville, died Thursday, February 19, 2015, at home. Born September 20, 1925, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Joseph Roy Dill and Martha Madeline Grieves Dill. He was the husband of Annette Grace Banzet Dill of Sykesville. Roy had been a Structural Engineer for many years. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #223, Sykesville and the VFW Post #467, Westminster. Roy was an avid swimmer. Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Helen Dill of Glen Burnie; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Jesse DeWitt of Columbia and Carol and Rob Sunderland of Finksburg; daughter-in-law, Christine Dill of Pylesville and grandchildren; Jennifer, Christopher, Josh, Jessica, Maria, Madelyn, Ryan, Piper and Gemma. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Oneita V. Dill and son, David Dill. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, where a service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm. Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
