Effa Lee "Effie" Roehrle, 77, of Mount Airy, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at The Dove House in Westminster after a long illness.

Born Jan. 28, 1935, in Birmingham, Ala., she was the daughter of Floyd and Ethelyn Saxton, of Baltimore. She was the wife of Veronn W. Roehrle.

After graduating from Milford Mill High School in 1954, she attended the Bard Avon School. She worked for the Baltimore City Health Department before leaving work to start her family.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Randallstown and Mount Olive Methodist Church in Mount Airy. She enjoyed spending time with her animals, vacationing at the beach and traveling to the Grand Tetons.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sister A. Annette Saxton, of Delta, Pa.; daughter Kelee E. Roehrle and son Erin S. Roehrle, both of Westminster; and granddaughter Paeten and Bronwyn Roseli.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Methodist Church Cemetery, 2927 Gillis Falls Road, Mount Airy, with a luncheon afterward at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Olive Methodist Church at the address above or to The Humane Society of Carroll County, c/o Nicky Ratliff, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD, 21158.
