Eleanor Frances Dangler Rice Saunders, 86, of Taneytown, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Jan. 30, 1928, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Dangler. Twice married, she was the wife of the late William Rice and the late Edward Saunders.

She most recently attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown and St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Manchester.

Although she enjoyed many hobbies, family always came first. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, music and more. She was involved with Carroll County Farm Museum and the Share and Care group at St. Bart's.

Surviving are children Janet Elizabeth Farley and husband Steve, of Taneytown, and Mary Anna Pavlos and husband Stephan, of Salisbury; sibling Charles Curtis and wife Claire Dangler, of Laytonsville; sisters-in-law Barbara Dangler, of Frederick, and Nancy Rice, of Gettysburg, Pa.; grandchildren Kaitlin Farley Trice and husband Sheldon, Jamie Farley, Kelley Farley, Emily Pavlos, Laura Pavlos, Anna Pavlos, and Katherine Pavlos.

She was predeceased by a brother, Norris Dangler.

A memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown.
