Eleanor Weibley Burkhardt, 83, of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Nov. 12, 1930, in Carlisle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn Bankert Weibley. She was the wife of the Rev. Albert R. Burkhardt, who died in 1997.

She was a homemaker and pastor's wife who enjoyed teaching Sunday school and participating in women's group activities. She enjoyed volunteering at Carroll Lutheran Village and participating in Bible study there. She was a member of St. Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church near New Windsor.

Surviving are sons Mark Burkhardt and wife Louise, of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Brent Burkhardt and wife Andrea Vernot, of Cambridge; and grandchildren Sarah, Brian and Alexandra Burkhardt.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service to celebrate her life, 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, with the Rev. Anne C. Durboraw and the Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz co-officiating. Private interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Baltimore.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Carroll Lutheran Village Ministry of Caring, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158; or to St. Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 447, New Windsor, MD 21776.
