Elizabeth Alice Welsh, 71, of Westminster, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born Sept. 16, 1940, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Brown Naill. She was the wife of the late Frank James Welsh Jr., her husband of 42 years.

She was a dietician at Springfield Hospital and custodian for the Carroll County Board of Education. She worked as a seamstress for the Mount Airy Sewing Factory. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, train rides and visits to the mountains. She also liked collecting angels and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are sons James Welsh, of Westminster, Kenneth Welsh and wife Helen, of Sykesville, Joseph Welsh and wife Beverly, of New Windsor, Timothy Welsh and wife Tina, of Gloucester, Va., and Jeffery Welsh and companion Robin Bennett, of Mount Airy; daughter Debra Brown and husband Al, of Navarre, Fla.; nephews Marty Williams, of Westminster, Robert Fry, of Virginia, and Leo Fry, of Florida, whom she raised as sons; sister Nancy Thompson and husband Ellis, of Mount Airy; brothers David Naill and wife Debbie, and Ralph Naill and wife Kathy, all of Mount Airy, Donnie Naill and wife Jenny, of Virginia, and Michael Naill and wife Susan, of Pennsylvania; 32 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Naill; and a sister, Teresa Naill.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David L. Meador officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Taylorsville.
