Elizabeth Catherine Ward, 93, of Westminster, formerly of Glen Burnie, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Westminster Ridge Assisted Living.

Born Dec. 24, 1920, in Connellsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James L. and Josephine Auer Edenbo. She was the wife of Francis Ray Thomas, who died in May 1946; and Lee Nathaniel Ward, who died in March 1977.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Arundel Chapter No. 80 and was the Worthy Matron from 1984 to 1986. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening and sewing.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Lee Douglas "Doug" and Julia Ward, of Westminster; daughter Katherine Gottschalk, of Deshler, Ohio; siblings Madeline Hartwig, of Virginia, Josephine Comey, of California, and William Edenbo, of Florida; grandchildren Daphne and Brenda Gottschalk, Kathy Diem, Kim Phillips, Leslie Reid and Theresa Ward; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert Gottschalk; and a brother, James Edenbo.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Art Monroe Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
