Elizabeth D. Wilder, 95, formerly of Gaither, died Sunday, December 8, 2013, at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Catonsville.

Born December 20, 1917, in Tazwell, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Vina Mathis Green. She was the wife of Esty James Wilder, who died in 1980.

She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church. She had lived for many years in Gaither, in Carroll County.

She was known by many for her hospitality, especially serving her Saturday morning breakfasts. She moved to St. Martin's Home in Catonsville in February 2002.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Ray and Linda Wilder, Ron and Raynel Wilder, and Darlene Wilder, all of Sykesville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Jesse "Jim" Wilder; daughter and son-in-law Ruby and Fletcher Todd; and a grandson, Earl R. Wilder Jr.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 6 until the time of service, 7 p.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Massey officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Little Sisters of the Poor, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228.
