Elizabeth L. Starr, 84, a retired John Hopkins Medical Technologist, died of heart disease on October 16, 2016 at home in Union Mills, Maryland. Elizabeth leaves behind two beloved sisters: Mary Bond of Baltimore and Margaret Warner and husband Robert of Keeseville New York, her daughter: Jacqueline Oberlechner and husband Lynn of Union Mills Maryland, two grandchildren: Eric Oberlechner of Baltimore and Emma Harris and husband Brandon of Westminster Maryland, and a step great-grandson Austin Harris. The daughter of Neil W. Bond, a Civil Engineer with the Army Corp. of Engineering, and Dorothy L. Murcray - Bond, Teacher and Homemaker, Elizabeth L. Starr was born in Keeseville New York in the Adirondack Mountains on August 17, 1932. Elizabeth graduated from Temple University in 1954 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Elizabeth and her husband Jack Starr of Nottingham, England, who passed away in 2000, were married for 45 years. They made a home and raised their daughter Jacqueline, in Baltimore. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, being with her family, gardening, visiting the ocean, and traveling. She was a member of the YMCA, World Wildlife Fund, SPCA, Southern Poverty Law Center, and many other charities. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to one of the charities that Elizabeth cherished: Maryland Public Broadcasting, Maryland SPCA, World Wild Life Fund, and/or the Southern Poverty Law Center. A celebration of her life will be scheduled.
