Ella Magin Goodwin, 96, of Westminster went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born November 1, 1920, in Taylorsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Florence Magin. She was the wife of the late Donald Edward Goodwin. Mrs. Goodwin was a graduate of Mt. Airy High School. Along with her husband and son, they owned Don's TV in Westminster where she was the secretary and office manager. She was a very active member of the Church of the Open Door. Along with her husband, they began the Living Cross program at the church. Mrs. Goodwin was also the cook for many years at Camp Nicodemus. She enjoyed playing table games, knitting, crocheting, getting together with friends and spending time with her grandsons. Surviving are son Richard and his wife Cynthia Goodwin and daughter Donna Goodwin all of Westminster; grandsons Michael, Brian and Gregory Goodwin; great-grandchildren Marcus, Sofia, Maris, Jeremy, Lillian and William. She was predeceased by her siblings, Hilda Baker, Eva Haines, Ruth Magin and George, Wilbur, Fred, Donald and Francis "Buck" Magin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12 from 6 to 8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 13 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Open Door. 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Rev. Dr. Ray Shutt and Rev. Dr. John Campbell will be officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Church of the Open Door or Carroll Christian Schools, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157.
