Ellen P. Seufert of Manchester, formerly of Cudjoe Key, Florida, and Lanham, Maryland, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 8, 2016 surrounded by family, after a 9-year battle with cancer, at the home of her daughter Sherri Seufert-Colao in Manchester, where she had been living. She was the daughter of the late Ignatius Mayhew and Mary Ellen Mayhew. She was the wife of the late Stanley E. Seufert Sr. She is survived by her sister Patty Mayhew of Upper Marlboro; her children Stanley E. Seufert, Jr. and wife Susan of Sunderland, Stephen E. Seufert and wife Teresa Seufert of Easton, and her daughter Sherri E. Seufert-Colao of Manchester; her 9 grandchildren; and her 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Scott E. Seufert, her stepmother Louise Norfolk, her sister Ida Jane Mayhew, and her brother Michael Mayhew. She worked for NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center of Greenbelt for 32 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking for friends and family, reading, crossword puzzles, and loved living in the Florida Keys. A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Millers United Methodist Church, 3435 Warehime Road, Millers with the Rev. Art Thomas officiating. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends for a celebration of Mrs. Seufert's Life at the Old Town Grille, 832 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD 21074.
