Ellwood Brake Fraley, 74 of Taneytown, died early Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born March 25, 1939, in Derwood, he was the son of the late Brake Ralph and Catherine Cullers Fraley. He was the husband of Nikora Doulos "Niki" Fraley, his wife of 47 years.

He graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1958. He was a plumber for Keller-May Mechanical Contracting for more than 20 years and was also an auctioneer for more than 20 years, primarily in Montgomery County.

During his life, he was a Master Mason and Past Master of Pentalpha Lodge No. 194 A.F. & A.M., where he was a 50-year member. He was also active with the Boy Scouts when his son was younger. He was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children and spouses Veronica G. and Tom Hennessey, of Sterling, Va., Stephen B. Fraley, of Taneytown, and Nikora K. and Jack Boucher, of Boyds; grandchildren Ted and Justin Hennessey, and Michael and Nicholas Boucher; sisters Alice Gregg, of Woodstock, Va. and Clara Nelson, of Needmore, Pa.; a niece, Patricia Hargett, of Boonsboro; a nephew, Stanley Gregg, of Amherst, Va.; and great-nieces.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service, 4 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home, chapel entrance, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz officiating. A Masonic Lodge of Sorrow service will be held at the conclusion of the funeral service. Interment will be private.
