Elmer A. Gregory, 92 of New Oxford, died Monday, February 2, 2015 at The Brethren Home Community. He was the husband of Mabel J. (Arthur) Gregory, his wife of 67 years. Elmer was born October 4, 1922 in Webster Springs, WV, the son of the late Lock L. and Alice (Anderson) Gregory. Elmer proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and received a purple heart while serving in Normandy, France and Germany, and he was a life member of the V.F.W. in Dundalk, MD. In addition to his wife Mabel, Elmer is survived by a son, Kent A. Gregory of Eldersburg, MD, a daughter, Donna G. Lehigh and her husband John of Union Bridge, MD, 3 grandchildren; Tammy Beck, Andrea Kvech, and Adam Phipps, 7 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ollie Varney of WV. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to the Adams Co. SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
