Elmer Lee "Pete" Lambert, Sr., 81, of Woodsboro, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick.

Born Jan. 17, 1931, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Norman "Baldy" G. and Lena N. "Dolly" Kolb Lambert.

He was married twice. His first wife was the late Emma Jane Saylor Lambert, who died in 1988; his second wife is Greta Frounfelter Lambert.

He was a member of Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren, Monocacy congregation, where he was a deacon and former Sunday school teacher. He was formerly employed as a farmer, truck driver, carpenter and as a custodian for the Frederick County Board of Education.

He was a member of the Thurmont Grange #409. He enjoyed fixing things, wood carving, tending to his flower garden, volunteering with the Rocky Ridge and Catoctin Fire Companies with butchering and the FFA and Mt. Tabor and Creagerstown churches with making apple butter.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law Elmer Lee and Ruth Lambert Jr., of Woodsboro; Grayson A. and Roxanne Lambert, of Thurmont; son C. Kenneth Lambert, of Frederick; grandchildren Rebecca Printz, Joanna Button, Joel, Nathan, Andrew, Matthew and Ben Lambert; great-grandchildren Lydia and Emaline Printz, Jayden, Sydney and Riley Lambert; several nieces and nephews; god-children Calvin Keeney and wife Melissa, and Vicky Barnhart and husband Chris; four god-grandchildren Montana, Carl Leo II, Cheyenne Keeney and Tristin Barnhart; and three step god-grandchildren Blake, Dakota and Alexis Barnhart.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Dave Collins and Brother Don Stine officiating. Interment will follow.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro.
