Eloise M. Gist, 84, of Smallwood, died early Sunday morning, Aug. 19, 2012, at home.

Born Jan. 18, 1928, in Union Mills, she was the daughter of the late Blanche C. Berwager Stonesifer and stepdaughter of the late Guy W. Stonesifer. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Tollie and Catherine Berwager. She was the wife of George A. Gist, her husband of 66 years.

She was retired from the Westminster Shoe Factory, and from Baugher's Restaurant where she was a pie maker.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed flowers.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Linda K. Gist, of Silver Run, Bobbi and husband Charlie May, Randy Gist and companion Joanne Saltzgiver, and Debbie and husband Ronnie Sipes, all of Westminster; sister Shirley and husband John Hauler, of Westminster; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy O'Brien.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Shutt officiating. Interment will be in Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Shipley.
