Elsie L. Brauning, 95, of Gamber, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.

She was the youngest daughter of the late Caroline and William Barber. She was the wife of the late C. Albert Brauning, to whom she was married for 61 years.

She was a true farmer's wife and a caregiver for most of her life. She was the oldest active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed her "Golden Agers" luncheons until very recently.

She had vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed sharing them with friends and family.

Surviving are son Charles A. "Chuck" Brauning and wife Joan; grandchildren Crystal D. Brauning and Timothy A. Brauning; nieces Peachy Caple, Bonnie Fold; neighbor Kristi McMullen, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by 12 sisters, two brothers and son John Wayne Brauning.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dahl Drenning officiating at Trinity Lutheran Church, 833 Deer Park Road, Westminster. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church or Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave. Westminster MD. 21157.
