Elton Lee Wright Jr., age 73, of Westminster, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home. Born July 20, 1944 in Laurel, he was the son of the late Elton L. Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Smith Wright. He was the husband of Gloria Davis Wright, his wife of 55 years. Mr. Wright was employed with 3M of Westminster for 36 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society of Union Bridge. He enjoyed model trains, his boat, fishing on the Susquehanna River, camping and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife he is survived by son, Duane L. Wright and wife Patti of Westminster; daughter, Djuana R. Garber and husband Randy of Hanover, PA; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth R. Giffin and husband Ricky, Kayla M. Wright and fiancé Jeffrey Haines, Andrew W. Garber and Devin H. Wright; great grandson, Caleb Giffin; sister, Joan L. Lindsay and husband Roger, near New Windsor and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, September 2 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, with Dan Hartzler officiating. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near New Windsor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 1 and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
