Elva "Madeline" "Sis" Nusbaum, 84, of Finksburg, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at home.

Born Aug. 19, 1928, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry Flohr and Elva Barber Flohr. She was the wife of the late John E. Nusbaum. 

Before retiring, she worked at Safeway, Telemecanique and was a bus aide. She enjoyed playing bingo, crabbing and fishing in Ocean City and Delaware.

Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law Larry S. Nusbaum, of Westminster, Philip E. Nusbaum and wife Patty, of Fayettville, N.C., and William B. Nusbaum, of Finksburg; a brother, Norman H. Flohr, of Baltimore; a sister, Marilyn "Peachy" Caple, of Finksburg; grandchildren Krystal, Tony, Amanda, Tara, Christopher and Ryan Nusbaum; and nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was predeceased by a brother, Francis R. Flohr; sisters-in-law Dorothy and Helen Flohr; and a close friend, Garland Buddy Dull.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dave Bare officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
