Emily Lee (nee Cashell) Graham, 71, of Westminster, died suddenly, March 19, 2015, due to complications from Crohn's Disease. She was the dearly loved wife of the late Richard Price Graham who died in December 2008. Born at the family home in Randallstown, MD, on January 26, 1944, she was the child of Charles and Ruth (Nake) Cashell. She was a descendent of George W. Cashell, who emigrated from Ireland and settled in Montgomery County, Maryland, prior to the Revolutionary War and whose descendents later moved to Baltimore County and Baltimore City. She was also a descendent of Dietrich Ripken who emigrated from Germany to Baltimore in the mid-1850's. Emily was a member of the Soldier's Delight -Thomas Johnson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had served as chapter secretary and chaplain for many years. Emily was of the Lutheran faith. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Saint James Lutheran Church in Rockdale, MD. After graduating from the Milford Mill High School, Class of 1962, she became employed with the State government and eventually retired in 2008, as the Administrative Aide to the Director of Social Service for Carroll County, MD. Emily and her husband enjoyed attending the symphony, opera, and live theatre. They were active with the St. Andrew's Society of Baltimore and traveled to ethnic events with the Kiltie Band of York. Emily enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad and an occasional trio to Ocean City, MD. She was an enthusiastic Ravens fan and enjoyed thoroughbred horseracing. Following retirement, Emily loved being at home with her Tuxedo cat, Winston, and observing the birds and animals in her garden. She enjoyed shopping trips with her sister, Lois, and visiting with her family and many friends. Emily is survived by a sister, Lois Marie Randall, of Manchester, and a brother, Andrew Jackson Cashell IV, of Fairfield, PA. Also left to mourn are nieces, Bonita Ryncewicz, Linda Pfleiderer, Jennifer Cashell, Amy Cashell, and nephews, Charles C. Randall II, and Christopher A. Cashell; also two great-nephews, and a great niece. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Friends may also call from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service; 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Chaplain Ann Schlossnagle officiating. Burial will be held at Wards Chapel Cemetery in Randallstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158 or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation at www.ccfa.org.
