Emma Irene Woodrum, 99, of Sykesville, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at her home.

Born June 6, 1912, in Great Bend, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Cora Belle Halderman Van Auken. She was the wife of the late Jack Henry Woodrum, who died in 1985.

She had worked as a weigher and wrapper for A&P Co. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching soap operas and playing board games. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jackie I. and Paul Davis, of S.C.; daughter Mary E. Willoughby, of Sykesville; daughters-in-law Maryjo Woodrum, of Severn, and Bonnie Woodrum, of Sykesville; sister Lucille Van Auken, of Pa.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sons Ernest Woody and John Woody Woodrum; five sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, with the Rev. David Bare officiating. Interment will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
